What limits marketing results most

Every single marketing thing can’t itself “acquire” a customer. The vast majority of what a healthy, thriving brand ships should be focused on earning trust and love. This then makes the lives of the rest of marketing and sales easier.

Think of it this way: If all you do is focus on today, nothing you’re doing today makes tomorrow any easier.

Let’s make a pact right now: Less demanding others share our work, more creating things worthy of sharing.

If marketing and sales at an organization looks like the process of pestering people, it’s a sign they haven’t earned enough trust and love. Maybe, if the results aren’t where you want them to be, it’s not because you haven’t found the right clever technique or channel to place yet another link to your work. Maybe it has nothing to do with optimizing for an algorithm or drop a tracking pixel to sneak-sell them. Maybe, there’s just not enough trust and love.

Maybe you haven’t earned the right to a response.

Focus on earning trust and love. Because that’s the actual job.
