Fighting against or for?
Fighting against something is easy. It can be important, since calling out and shedding light on something that’s broken is a key step towards fixing things. If anything, fighting against something is a great way to start.
But that’s all it is: a place to start. Again, that’s the easy part.
Eventually, you have to switch to fighting for something. When you fight for something, knee-jerk reactions based on anger turn into thoughtful responses based on creativity. When you fight for something, despair turns into hope.
It’s fine and even helpful to start your process by fighting against something. That’s all part of the story you tell yourself to get motivated and tell others to rally them to your cause. But eventually, the story needs to pivot.
What are you fighting against? What are you fighting for?
