Making bad
If you’re stuck, the solution is simple: make one, tiny, small piece or project … terribly.
Writer’s block and any kind of creative block isn’t a real thing. You don’t have writer’s block. You have genius block. You have ego block. You have attention block. Your stakes are too high, or you want this thing to be perfect, which is just not how creativity works.
Creating this thing today is just practice for the thing tomorrow. That’s true whether you make a video about your lunch that disappears in 24 hours or a documentary series on CNN.
That stuck feeling comes from your focus, not your ability. To get unstuck, focus on making something bad. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you begin to make better things.
