The single easiest objection

“But that’s harder.”

Um…yes?

It turns out meaningful work is hard. Better work is hard. Anything but the status quo, or racing to the bottom, or cutting corners, or the tried-and-true, or the first and obvious answer, or the biased one … is indeed hard.

When someone says to try something, claiming “it’s hard” is both true … and pointless. Of course it’s hard. Anything better than this is hard. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t find a way, nor does it mean we can’t make it easier. But if “hard” is a trait you use to disqualify things in your life, don’t be surprised if things don’t improve.

Of course, this is easier said than done. In fact, it’s quite hard to get done.

But since when does that stop us?
